Abstract: |
Given the critical role of food provision in anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions, mitigating food-system climate impacts is of increasing concern. How we respond to this challenge must necessarily be sensitive to issues of tradeoffs and problem-shifting along the multiple dimensions of food-system sustainability. Drawing on a case study of the biophysical, ecological and socio-economic dimensions of gobal salmon production systems, this presentation will highlight the pitfalls of simplistic policy responses and the attendant necessity of nuanced approaches to achieving sustainability objectives. |
