Session Title: Image-guided Drug Delivery in Cancer: Challenges and Opportunities
Session Type: NCI/NIH-Sponsored Session
Session Start/End Time: Monday, Apr 04, 2011, 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Location: Room W208, Orange County Convention Center
Session Description: Image-guided drug delivery (IGDD) is a novel form of focal cancer therapy where imaging is used in target localization, controlled release, and monitoring of drug delivery. The overarching goal in oncologic IGDD is to improve the therapeutic ratio and decrease systemic toxicity. In this informational session, speakers will present and discuss funding opportunities, resources, and strategies in translation of methods in IGDD for cancer. The session is based on a funding initiative from NCI: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-09-253.html. [Note: Keyvan Farahani delivered the presentation for Laurence Clarke, who was unable to attend the session.]
